Jonathan Slatter has been running a music publishing company and working as a professional musician for 30 years and as a musicologist has an expert understanding of copyright in the modern world of recorded music.
He started his career as head chorister of Exeter Cathedral and obtained a BA (Hons) degree in Music from Bristol University where his tutor was the acclaimed British composer Robert Saxton. He has been a member of the Performing Right Society for over three decades.
In the early 1990s he worked with Richard Bagehot author of the bible of music publishing ‘Music Business Agreements’ who advised him on setting up a ground breaking production music library.
As director of Sounds Visual Music Ltd he has wide experience of investigating copyrights and licences for music usage across a wide range of media. As a composer and arranger he has written and produced original music for all the major television broadcasters in the UK and widely across the United States.
